Bocce in Kansas |
Kansas resident Fred Wilburn sends some great shots of his home court which he has dubbed the Buzzard Hollow International Bocce Court. |
Here's a shot taken in the spring before the trees sprout leaves. The court is international size (91' x 13' or 27.7 meters by 3.9 meters). |
Says Wilburn, "Court construction was gleaned from Internet sources. The surface is crushed limestone from our local quarry here in Johnson County Kansas." |
Good shot of the end board and ball racks. |
Wilburn says that the Buzzard Hollow International Bocce Court is "...probably the only one in the state of Kansas other than a couple of municipal courts in the southeast Kansas area where there are some Italian communities." |
"The surface is crushed limestone from our local quarry here in Johnson County Kansas. I've debated on whether to top the court with either red clay or the Har-Tru material." {Surface looks great to me!} |
