Pete Chimento's home court, Millstone Twp, NJ.
|
Pete Chimento, of Millstone Twp, NJ has a great looking court with synthetic turf. |
Pete says, "I am a big fan of your newsletter, really enjoy the articles and helpful hints. I thought I would enclose some pictures of my court." |
More from Pete..."My neighbors, here in New Jersey, have formed a fledgling league of about 25 guys. We play a money league every other Thursday night during the summer." |
The court is 12' X 60'. "The scoreboard and Bocce rack I built myself. The two metal-halide light fixtures are supported by 16 foot 4x4 posts. This idea I credit to Carmine D'agostino, whose website I found through your newsletter." |
Scoreboard and ball rack are looking good - looks like they play to 11 points hereabouts. |
Just looking at this scoreboard makes me want to roll a game or two! |
Says Pete... "I would like to also include two pictures of my low cost measuring device that I made for those often debatable situations when one team feels it has the closest shot to the pallino. It is just a soup can that fits over the pallino with a tape measure affixed to the top. This simple device looks good and settles the majority of disputes. Best part, it swivels on the pallino, without moving it." |
Just spin the device around to check another ball and compare. |
"Just a quick photo depicting the "guys" who play Bocce in our neighborhood. We finished our neighborhood championship and decided to take a photo. Its a fun game that is certainly starting to take off on those warm summer nights under the lights here in Millstone." {Click the photo for a better view.} |
