Jonathan Bonanno's Methuen, Mass. Bocce Court

These photos come courtesy of Jonathan Bonanno (Ace Bocce Court Builder who has burst upon the local scene as an outstanding young player). The photos give a step-by-step pictorial of the court's completion. Above = pick the site.

The shrubs had to go - "Acceptable losses," says Bonanno.

Stake off the dimensions - this court will be 80' by 12'.

Bring in the equipment and start the heavy work.

Stone and lasar transit.

Work on the frame begins.

Looking good!

Surface material.

Extra height at the ends is common in the East.

Accomodations have to be made for changes in the land's elevation over the length of the court.

The fencing and stone work are nice touches.

The owner checks the roll - note the screed board to the left.

Steps lead up to the court and the fence has a good sized gate.

Really looking good!

Swingboards are in and the green sign reads "Bonanno Ct."

The almost finished project - coming soon: lights and scoreboard. Please follow Jonathan's lead and send photos of bocce in your neck of the woods.
